MISSING PRESUMED STOLEN EQUINES, – ‘Little Miss River’ & ‘Yago’ – South Carolina     

Rembert (Kershaw County), SC Monday, April 24, 2017

‘Little Miss River’ aka ‘River’ and ‘Yago’ were last seen on April 23, 2017 according to Jackie McFadden. River and Yago are Marsh Tacky Horses. River is a 7-year-old Bay Mare and Yago is a 7-year-old Dark Bay Gelding and are known as the South Carolina Official State Heritage Horses.

Ms. McFadden asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating her horses. On April 24, 2017, Ms. McFadden reported that the hot wire on the gate was cut and the horses were taken from the property during a severe rain storm. Both horses would have to have been walked out of the pasture and lead down a side drive and loaded.

Ms. McFadden has notified the Kershaw County Sheriff Department of the missing presumed stolen horses.

NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

“River and Yago are 2 of the remaining 400 Marsh Tacky Horses in the world. 325 of these horses are in South Carolina.”, says Jodie Reeves, spouse to Jackie McFadden. “Jackie has had a lifelong passion for the Marsh Tacky Horses and has dedicated her life to preserving these horses. Jackie worked very hard to get the Marsh Tacky Horse Breed designated by the State of South Carolina as the Official Heritage Horse.” Mr. Reeves went on to tell Stolen Horse International, that River and Yago are the ambassador horses. They travel all over South Carolina to the schools for educational programs. Most recently they went to Kiawah Island to the Kiawah Cup 2017. These horses are very special to Jackie and Jodie. Kershaw County Sheriff Department has been contacted regarding their disappearance.

On April 24, 2017, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by McFadden and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.
