MISSING EQUINE,  Buddy  Texas

Goldwaithe (Mills) TX Sunday December 11, 2016

On November 24, 2016, Leann Curtis reported that her family's horse, Buddy, came up missing on Thanksgiving Day or the day after there's no signs that he escaped so at this point. Buddy is a 12-14 year old Bay Roan Quarter Horse Gelding.

Ms. Curtis asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating Buddy. On November 24, 2016, Ms. Curtis reported that she is not sure how far he could have wandered off by now but there's no signs in the fence that he was able to get out. Ms. Curtis has notified the Mills County Sheriff Department of the missing presumed stolen horse.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

“Buddy was owned by our father and was his baby. Our father passed away 5 years ago.”, says Leann Curtis. “Our family wants Buddy to be returned, we want him home safe and sound. If anything has happened to Buddy, we still want his body home. We already have a burial spot for Buddy next to our father, it was our Dad's last wish.” Ms. Curtis went on to explain to Stolen Horse International, that this is one of the main reasons they want Buddy back home where he belongs. She explained that their Dad loved Buddy so much, that he wanted Buddy to pull his casket to the graveside. Unfortunately, since the weather was not working in their favor they were not able to do this one thing their father wanted. They love Buddy and want to do anything to get him back.

On December 2, 2016, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Curtis and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.

You will find Buddy’s webpage with information and a printable flyer in his NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates or leads will be posted. Anyone interested in helping can search for report number NR005126 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: http://www.netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=5126

“Circulating the flyer for Buddy and the NetPosse.com Alert nationwide is imperative, as he could be anywhere by now. These flyers are one tool that brings home many horses and must be posted in as many public places as possible,” says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. “And remember, not everyone has internet access. Please post Buddy’s flyer in public places as well.”

Pictures, flyer, contact information, updates and other information are on the NetPosse webpage to identify this case quickly when calling in a tip. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Leann Curtis, Mills County Sheriff Department or Stolen Horse International with any information.
