Late Tuesday afternoon Montgomery County Precinct 4 Deputies were contacted by a Houston Police Department Auto Theft detective who said he had possibly found Kat, the horse stolen last Fridday at aTractor Supply parking lot in Porter, Texas.

Officers went to the location, recoverd Kat and contacted her owner Anita Lee who had been out posting flyers. The truck and trailer were not found with the horse.

Anita borrowed a truck from a friend and flew to the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office in New Caney with peppermints in hand for Kat. Although a little thinner, Kat was in good condition other than a few halter burns.

Anita Lee's Facebook Post - KAT HAS BEEN RECOVERED!!!  She was found today about 3 pm by a Sargeant with HPD who was following up on a lead on my truck/trailer.  When he went there, he saw several horses in the pen and recognized Kat immediately.  You cannot imagine how thrilled I am to have her home.  The Montgomery County Constables did a wonderful job of following up leads and putting up with me hounding them to death! They picked her up for me after verifying some details about Kat that I had kept to myself and I got her home about 1 hr ago.  She has rolled and rolled and is grazing contentedly now.  She is much thinner and somewht dehydrated but sound and safe.  They had a very tight halter on her and obviously had her tied up for some time as there are very significant abrasions on her face......but we will take of all those details in the weeks to come, THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR CONCERN, YOUR SYMPATHIES AND YOU IMMEASURABLE HELP IN FINDING KAT!!  iT'S A MAGNIFICENT COMMUNITY WE ALL HAVE........I'm gonna have a glass of wine now........

According to law enforcement, Kat had been tied to a tree for several days with no food or water. They are now talking to people in the area in an attempt to locate teh truck and trailer.
