Idaho update

27 January 2013

Sunday, January 27, 2013 - Yesterday was a very frightening day and night for us. We know Idaho is old (28 in March) and one day she will not be with us. Logically we know that fact. However, we found out yesterday just how far away we are from excepting that fact emotionally.  Seeing her flat on the ground took us to an emotional place we were not ready to experience. We are so happy that didn't happen last night and are hopeful for her full recovery.

We have her fever down this morning and she is eating some of her food. She did pass on her supplement cookie this morning so we know she is not feeling 100%. She looks for that cookie every day and gobbles it down savoring every bite. We will continue to monitor her temperature and check to see how much food and water intake she has during the day. She has something for her fever as well.idaho72DSCN4998cap.jpg

Thank You!

We would like to thank everyone for your thoughts, prayers and concerns about Idaho. We had no idea how many people cared about her until yesterday. Your emails and comments on Facebook mean far more than you know.

We'd also like to give a special thanks to Paul and Renee, our friends who helped us last night with Idaho. They were with us until around 2 a.m. this morning. (They were also here for us the day she was stolen in 1997.) I am not sure we would have been so calm without their help.  Another thanks goes out to Angela who got the a call muffled by tears and fear. She put me back together again with her "antidotal" stories.

The Miracle of Idaho - (Read her story here.)

We know how special Idaho is to us and how her theft has helped so many people. What we didn't know is so many people knew that too. So much of who we are today is tied into Idaho and what she symbolizes in our life. She is what inspires us to keep doing what we do with Stolen Horse International. I watch her every day from my desk as I work with victims around the country. Idaho reminds me each time I see her that miracles do happen and that we should never underestimate the power of one.

More updates will follow on our facebook pages. Again thank you everyone!
