We're not saying some folks don't have any judgment abilities at all. We want to make that clear. It's just that sometimes they don't seem to use the best judgment.
Take this carload of folks stopped by the Utah Highway Patrol for reckless driving on the northbound lane of I-15 one afternoon. One thing leads to another, somebody tries to steal a horse.
Oh, my.
Let's use the Utah Highway Patrol report. They get a report of a car driving recklessly northbound on I-15 and go to investigate. They stop a 2008 Impala with a male driver, a male passenger, and three female passengers. One of the officers smells marijuana and, sure emough, a search of the car produces a bag of the stuff. One of the women pulls a bag of it out of her shirt pocket. While searching her, a small bag of heroin is found.
This is apparently where things got a little crazy. UHP arrests the driver and puts him in handcuffs. But while they are dealing with the women, the other male takes off across country. The driver attempts to follow him but is recaptured. Somebody-and the report is unclear as to exactly who-tries to steal a horse to escape on, "but the horse was unwilling to aid the criminal".
Final tally-four arrests and one on the lam. If anybody sees a Hispanic male, black hair, brown eyes, teal shirt, blue jeans, last seen in the New Harmony area, call UHP at 435-586-9445.
