Thank You NetPosse

Hi Everyone,
My name is Shannon Minney and I was the owner of Baby and Shadow. They were recently stolen from the barn I had them boarded at. They were stolen with Mister and Hope. I just want to say that I appreciate all of you and the hours you put into helping us. It was wonderful to have the media call us. We were getting no where by ourselves. THANK-YOU ALL!!! I hope that all of you if you have also lost a horse have had great results. Thanks again,

Shannon  1-9-05

"The days pass quickly for me. Each is a reminder of how long ago Matches was stolen and saddens me more each day. I know the chances are getting pretty slim he will be found, but there is hope. And with hope I keep going. I pray quietly everywhere, in my car, at the barn or driving down the road to find him. I stop at every horse show, auction, parade... wherever a horse might be.  continue

Hi Debi,

I wanted to inform you that Jirah has been found and is safely at home. We got a call from a boarding stable in Brooksville, FL. The 10 year old child of the stable owner recognized Jirah from the flyer printed in the paper there and the father called the police. Yesterday, the police captain and Karen went up and identified him and picked him up. The day before this, a woman had confessed to the crime to a boarder at my barn and he called the police. She was arrested that same day and confessed to the crime, but had refused to tell where the horse was. Thank you so much for your help with this. We couldn't have found Jirah without your help. Please let the kind people know that the search for Jirah is over and he's home now.  Please keep up the great work you do!!
Best regards,
Karen & Darlene

"I always read these alerts on the many yahoo groups and having a group of my own that deals with horse and pony ads from everywhere around the globe was wondering if you would care to join the group and post that way all the members there have a heads up to. I think this program is an awesome way to put the information out there. Thank you so much." -- Elisha

"As a horse owner and lover I feel that it is very important that action be taken immediately when someone has a horse stolen-Just one person can make a difference, and I would like to help. " NetPosse member 11/22/04

Thanks so much for all your kindness to us. I appreciate it more than words could possibly say. It was a month this last Monday and with each passing day, our hearts grow weaker. We will not give up, and it helps to ease the pain knowing that people really do care and are willing to help two beloved members of our family to be returned to us. Thanks again and God Bless, Savannah
P.S. Happy Thanksgiving!  (11/25/04)

To All Of You That Have Been So Kind:

Your words have helped so much! My daughter Cheyenne and I appreciate all the support.

I was able to get local news coverage, both TV and newspaper. Jan from the Billings Gazette was exceptionally kind and compassionate. I also would like to acknowledge our local channel 2 and Reporter Jay for being so interested.

So far there are no leads and nothing new to report, with the exception of someone seeing a bay horse in Texas, near Weatherford. I have a friend in that area, who will be checking it out and she knows Joey. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I have been assigned to Det. Bofto of the Yellowstone Co. Sheriff's Dept., but have not even met the man. The dept. hasn't questioned any of the security guards of the Conoco Plant who may have seen any strange vehicles in the area. I'm pushing, but haven't gotten anywhere with them. It's very disheartening.

But I'm keeping myself busy and preparing for Christmas. It was hard taking Joey's stocking out, I'd forgotten about it and finding it in the Xmas things was bittersweet. I must sound crazy to some people, but all my 4 legged family members have stockings.

Have a wonderful holiday.

Sincerely,
Linda Risdon

Commenting on stolen NY horse Cimarron's death by slaughter facility just days after theft occurred in November 2004.

Debi,
I am so, so sorry. I have no words of comfort for there are none in a situation of this cruel magnitude. Please know you and the family are in my thoughts and prayers. The heart you carry in your chest is very special. that's why it breaks. That is also why if allows you to continue the work you do, for each time it breaks, it becomes stronger, and stronger. My hat is off to you and the many people that support and help you.
Warmly,

Email Note: Thank you so much for all you do for so many people who have lost their much loved friends. I always pray with each new missing horse and cry for the people who have lost them. I will always pray for the safe return of the horses who are ripped away from the ones who love them and I will always rejoice for the ones brought home.  I am so happy that Idaho brought about this much needed help for folks who have had their horses stolen. I am also very happy that she was returned to you. I think about what happened to Pepper and it breaks my heart to know there are people out there who are so hateful and destructive. I am glad to be able to pray for everyone who needs prayer. It's all I have to offer, but it's enough many times! Thanks Deb. Give Idaho a hug for me ok and thanks for having the heart to do what you do! You are an angel!
Hugs,
Kimberly

Hey, everyone :) Well, CANDY was freeze branded on 11/06/04 up here in the Austin area. This was sponsored by Crimestoppers of Houston & this is OUR brand, registered in Williamson County, and I will have to renew this brand in 10 years.

She was excellent for this, procedure took approximately 18 seconds. This method is much more humane than the hot branding irons. CANDY trailered very well and  everyone was very happy to see us :)

CANDY has also been microchipped and the vet liked her personality and  conformation. I guess now the only thing left to do besides getting her insured, is for me to have the same brand put on my butt.....ha ha...

Thanks again to Sandi West for your honesty, and to Debi Metcalfe w/Stolen Horse International. You both are extraordinary ladies and I am humbled by all that you did during my 64 week search for CANDY. Just letting you all know we are taking all precautions so this does not happen again.

Love from Round Rock,

With Debi's help, one email turned into thousands of pairs of eyes all over this country and an outpouring of support that helped us to deal with Pepper's disappearance by knowing that we were not alone and that there were wonderful people all over the United States that were willing to post notices and take a second look to watch for Pepper.

I know that I did not respond to every email personally, I have never really been good at that, but I also can tell you that the emails came pouring in from all across our country, Washington, Maine, Wyoming, Arizona, Montana and everywhere in between. The knowledge that we were not alone in this and the support that we received from every single one of you that took the time to take a second look, to send an email or to post a flyer held us up and kept us strong.   Read more here

With great thanks and love,

I am begging you all- like never before. Please take a moment to remember this case and maybe put up a new flyer of him. I am going to go out driving this weekend and put one everywhere I can. I am trying to save up to take out an ad or two in some national magazines. More attention means better chances. Right? can't hurt! Please pass this plea along. Please everyone for me and Matches remember us today and help bring him home. Thank you."

I want to extend my greatest appreciation to you and your contacts...I have gotten so much support and many prayers from those members. I have received probably 40-50 emails and they were all touching. I never knew so many people would go out of their way to help someone they didn't even know. Some people were driving as many as two hours out of their way to look for us.

You must tell them ALL "Thanks So Much, we appreciate as they will never know!" Love to all, may GOD bless you with a bounty of good fortune; You are a jewel, Debi! Thanks,

Hi Debi:

Wanted you to see the difference your efforts are making for those of us, hooked on horses. What's funny is; some people think we "own horses" when the real truth is they quietly steal our hearts and leave a lasting imprint on our lives.

The story posted on my site, "One Truth Remains Clear" counter meter is reading over 1100, many of which I'm sure are attributed to being linked to your site. ~~~ I THANK YOU ~~~
I've returned any and all e-mails I have received in support. I also scan the sites and send encouragements. I know it is what keeps me going. I never knew there were so many people out there who love horses.

You will be receiving a small donation early Feb. and I will make donations as frequently as possible.

Sincerely,
Joyce Roane

INDIANNA - HORSES FOUND
THIS IS TO LET YOU ALL KNOW ,THAT THERE ARE STILL HAPPY ENDINGS.!
Both horses are underweight and the mare has been traumatized terribly, but I think she will be ok ,with some love and kindness. They tried to burn her tattoo off her lip and neither had eaten much for 3 weeks, so they are very thin. Feet are in bad shape from standing in mud, and they have the snots ,but considering ,I think we were very ,very lucky! Three arrests have been made ,so far .I fully intend to testify !!!Thanks for everyone's help .

Kentucky - Last night October 24, 2001, we discovered that a horse had been stolen from his barn in Waddy Kentucky. Rumor has it that there has been some other horses taken in other KY counties prior to this and they are being taken out west and sold. He is a sorrel, gelding and 7 years old. There were other things taken like halters, lead ropes ect, but they are not important to us. We need everyone's help on trying to locate him.  If anyone locates this horse and needs a picture to identify him you can email me at mbjaz2000@aol.com

Thank you for your help. He was found about a week ago and that is an answered prayer for us all.

Missouri - Stormy Missouri stolen 4/14/01--Recovered 4/21/01
To Everyone who helped, a note for you! We would like to say thank you to each and every one of you for doing what you do for stolen horses and their owners,  you should all be very proud of yourselves.  We are happy to report that Stormy is now home safe and sound. We greatly appreciate all that has been done for us to help in his search.
Our sincere appreciation,
Stacy and of course Stormy, Michael and friends

North Carolina - Crystal was stolen June 14 from Morganton, NC. She is a palomino and white pinto, 8 years old.

My daughter stopped to give her a hug the day we got Crystal back. From what she said Crystal seemed a little confused - wouldn't eat when food was first put in front of her which is so not like Crystal - ha!. But it didn't take her long. She is already too fat again. We are already getting requests for visits with Crystal. It is so nice having her back. I have gone out every day to give her a hug.

Her mane has all been shaved off and her tail is very short. I can tell she had been kept inside out of the sun because her coat was not faded at all. Her markings are still showing loud and clear.

Every time I look at Crystal I just can't believe she is back. She seems to be a little grumpy but otherwise the same. I guess she has been through a lot in these past 3 months. Shealy said finding her was just blind luck but I know it was much more than that. take care and keep up your good work!!!.....

Thank you so much for your willingness to help us find our little horse.

Dottie
(Footnote:  Months later Crystal gave birth to Sparkle, a filly, origin unknown. :-) )

North Carolina - Stolen from NC 10/2000 & recovered 2/2001
Thief caught and given 3 yrs probation, ordered to pay restitution, 24hrs in jail, court fines, felony larceny conviction, can't come within 350 feet of owners or their property, and the judge made each of the the thieves stand up and apologize to the owners face to face.

South Carolina - Clemson University in SC had 2 mares stolen from their Equine Program. Luckily these mares were branded and were found within weeks of the theft. Quick action paid off! Recovered after 5 weeks!!!
Two quarter horse mares were stolen in the early hours of Sunday April 23. Please help us locate these horses. Both mares are sorrel, and 16 years of age.  Both are branded with the letters "CU" on their left shoulder. One mare has the number "4", with "47" branded beneath it on her hip.  The other mare's hip reads "4", with "18" beneath it. One mare is in foal, but this is not clearly obvious.

Thank you to all who helped make their return home possible!!!

BLUE ROAN FILLY FOUND IN 30 HOURS WITH HELP OF NET POSSE

Now here is your thank you and the news from the owners.

Sir or Madam,

We recently sent a letter out concerning a missing Blue Roan Quarter Horse Filly. We would like to let everyone know that we have retrieved the Filly, and as of the writing of this letter, she is already on her way home with a professional hauler.

We recovered the filly because of the concerned efforts of all of you out there on the internet. It took us less than 30 hours to find her! However, in order to preserve the safety of all those concerned, and because of legal advice we have received, we couldn't release this letter until the filly was in
the care of our hauler.

The power and size of the internet is obviously amazing, and it has shown itself to be an incredible tool. Because of this, we are leaving our Missing and Stolen Horses area up in our directories in order to help everyone else out there who have lost their horses.

We would like to thank everyone involved, and in particular, the anonymous caller that gave us the information we needed to find her. If it wasn't for that callers time and concern, it is likely that we would still be looking for our Filly.

Again, we would like to thank everyone for their time and patience in this matter. Please forward this letter to your friends so they can get the Thank You that they deserve. The comments and support we received from everyone on the internet were amazing, and we certainly appreciated everyone's interest. For those of you who want to keep up with this story, we will be posting our accounts as they occur, at our Missing Filly Stories news log.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Benkoski
