Lance Ran Away - Where Was He Now
(not all missing horses are stolen)
Peggy needs your help. Peggy's own words...
"Our biggest problem was that Lance and I had a riding accident in the woods, so in the beginning we primarily focused on that area, scouring every acre of the park on foot, horseback and even in helicopters/planes. It seemed most probable at that time that he was indeed tied up someplace in the woods...but I didn't go up in the helicopter until the
Tuesday after the accident occurred (it occurred on Saturday) and when I could see so clearly into the area and that there was no trace of him (we could see geese sitting on their nests...that's how much we could see from the air) I then realized he was with a person. We then thought that he had wandered onto somebody's property and they just didn't know who to contact....but in retrospect that was improbable because he had on full tack. Seems as though an honest person would have called the police at the very least....
So now two weeks after he came up missing, I am now convinced he was stolen. And he is probably long gone as we have had newspaper, radio, and television coverage on the story...not to mention a tremendous amount of horse lovers helping us search and posting flyers."
Please take a moment to:

I apologize about the lack of individual addressing, but I will talk to each of you more in depth, I promise!!! I am just so excited and happy to have him home.
He is beat up and lost a great deal of weight, he wandered up to a local house today around 4pm. It really does appear to me that he was in the woods during that time. As amazing as that is...that no one had seen him. He was extremely frightened and shy and wouldn't even come to me until after a good deal of coaxing, like he was in shock...so I guess it is possible that he thwarted any rescue attempts by fleeing whenever anyone got close ... or maybe more likely he was stuck someplace where nobody could see ...or....who knows where he was...we probably will never know.
He wandered past a young girl's house who called her neighbor who then got one of his horses to lead lance into the pasture. He still had his saddle on upside down and underneath his lower back but had broken free from his bridle and has some pretty nasty flesh wounds on his lips.
He loaded up onto the trailer with no problems....like a pro! And when he got home he got a spring in his step, he was very happy to be home....and with no time at all he was back to his old self .... begging for
loving and treats hanging his head out of his stall...posing for the cameras and directing the (at one point) 5 pairs of hands to scratch him in his favorite spots.
A vet came out, but there are still some things I'm concerned about....his chest is swollen, he has nasty wounds on his lips and he was running a bit of a temp....so his normal vet is coming out tomorrow too....
There will be a big appreciation party at the barn for everyone who helped with the search and cared. It should be on the 25th....details to come later...
Will write more later.....thank you so much for everyone's concern and caring!!!!!
Peggy
