Several Thousand Dollars Worth of Tack Stolen from Alabama Barn
Last Thursday night 05-15-03, a barn was burglarized in west Perry
County and several thousand dollars worth of saddles and tack were
stolen. A total of 10 saddles of various styles were stolen
including:
- western working saddles
- an antique high back western
saddle
- a Canadian Trooper saddle
- a western child's saddle,
- numerous halters,
- reins
- bits
- chaps
- blankets
- gun boots
- whips
- ropes.
Most of the saddles and some of the tack were branded with either
a "broken arrow" brand or the letters "RW" in script (connected), these are hot brands where an red hot iron brand is actually applied
to the leather, the brand will be in various places, mainly on fenders, seats, rear of seat.
There was also a sterling silver double-heart bit engraved with "E. GARCIA #34 of 75" stolen. If you
come in contact with any of these items please call or email me, they
will probably be disposed of at flea markets, horse sales, yard sales, etc.
Thanks for your help.
