Thanks to SHI and law enforcement efforts the owner of the above
tack was recovered.
Pottawatomie County Detective has
confirmed that a well organized ring of thieves has been
targeting the Midwest from Kansas, Missouri, Ohio,
Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Oklahoma and using the same M/O to
bring into barns and carry away all the saddles/tack. The
FBI now has opened a case (Gerald Mullen with the Green Bay, Wisc Office) and law enforcement agencies are trying to follow up on leads. One of the most recent cases occurred last week in Morgan, Mo -- loss of 10 Billy Cook saddles. Pottawatomie County Detective is attempting to alert all Kansas by the local press. (information current as of 12/02/05)
It appears well over several hundred thousand dollars of saddles/tack stolen to date.
