RECOVERED JUNE 30, 2006 - Red Dun Appaloosa Mare Missing from Pasture in Blair County, Penn. 6/19/2006 -- presumed stolen

It is with a heavy heart that we inform NetPosse supporters that we have lost one of our own. Amanda Thompson, a NetPosse volunteer from PA, was instrumental in uniting a missing horse named Rose with her owner, Tammie Reffner, in June 2006. Sadly, Amanda informed us that Tammie was recently killed in a terrible tragedy. Please join us in remembering Tammie, and praying for her family to find peace during this time.

This is a painful reminder to live and love every day to the fullest. We never know what day will be our last. ~ NetPosse.com 4/23/08
(Please note, I have removed contact information for Tammie and her family.)

Note from Amanda--NetPosse Vol.

6/30/06 11:00 EST - Note from Debi Metcalfe

I just talked with Tammie and she is on the way to meet NetPosse volunteer Amanda Thompson.    Amanda and Tammie have never met before today.  Tammie is so thankful that Amanda, who lives in the area, is there to help her and has been since she received the Idaho Alert for Rose.   Amanda has physically searched for Rose, been there as a shoulder for Tammie to cry on and is now driving her to get Rose.

She is also thankful for the many emails she received from NetPosse members and the many many prayers for Rose's return.

I always ask you to write to the victims and let them know you are there.  Maybe there isn't much you can do on most of the cases but it only takes a few minutes to let someone know they are not alone and that you care.

Tammie told me that she kept the computer on and checked it often, always finding a note there from someone offering support in one way or another.  Sometimes it was just a prayer and letting her know she was not alone.

"You cannot measure how much the support from this group meant to me.  You just can't know until you are here missing your horse,"  Tammie told me on the phone.

Tammie promises to send pictures and a letter with details when after she brings Rose home.  Check back tomorrow and hopefully we will have the rest of the story...THE HAPPY ENDING we all look forward to for any missing horse.

Once again, thank you to all of those who helped out in a large or small way.  NetPosse members are some of the kindest people I know and the kindness shown from your hearts never ceases to amaze me.

At SHI we never give up hope and we NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF ONE.

Sincerely

Debi  and Harold Metcalfe

6/30/2006 10:01:57 A.M.  My Beloved Rose is Home! - Debi, I am sure you know by now that Rose is found and had appeared in Barb's yard. She came back this morning. I am going up to sit with her until the trailer arrives this evening. I will be in touch with you as soon as I can to tell you all of the details.

I cannot thank you enough for all for your help and support. People that don't know me or my horse were so supportive and the prayers .. I am overwhelmed.--Tammie

UPDATE - Rose is missing in CLINTON County, Penn. She was at a breeding farm and escaped from the pasture during a storm. The owner has now been in the area, and believes Rose is in the Mountains somewhere. This is a sparsely populated area ... Rose needs help to find her way home! We are asking that anyone in the area help search by ATV or preferably horseback. Please contact Tammie or NetPosse if you can help!

I talked to Tammie last night. We are using the SHI Flyer...They are so nice!!! Apparently the retired Police officer is part of NetPosse as well. He made the flyers up and emailed to the DCNR and they copied them and posted all along the area. Tammie said everyone they talked to knew that Rose was missing. I said that was a good thing. The more that know the better our chances of getting Rose home. Tammie also talked to her Vet who also goes in that area. He said Rose could survive up there for some time as long as she didn't get hurt. So we are still hoping and praying for her.

Tammie and I are now friends...we spend so much time on the phone with each other. She is truly a good person. We said when Rose gets home we are having a Welcome home party for Rose!!!

If you need my assistance in any other missings in PA please let me know!!

Amanda
