10/5/09 8:48 am - THE CAUGHRANS HAVE ARRIVED AND CONFIRMED IT IS MAX!!! Keith just called and told Debi! MORE SOON ...
10/4/09 1:00 pm- MAX HAS BEEN FOUND and the recovery of the horse in Missouri is taking place as I type this to the site!. A Stolen Horse International flyer was seen at Farmfest by a cousin of the family that now has Max. A call was made, ID was made and the current owner, Kim Gully called Keith and Susan to tell them she has Max.
Brief Story from NetPosse.com:
"We were all crying. We just coudn't believe that after all this time we finally got the call we had been waiting for! " Susan told Debi Metcalfe when describing their reaction to the call about Max.
Susan, her husband Keith and 14-year-old daughter Kaitlynn, were at a horse show Sunday when they received the call about Max.
When Debi Metcalfe asked Kaitlynn how she was feeling she said, " I feel excited and impatient!"
Kim Gully said she bought Max about a month ago through a connection in a Craiglist ad. She said a cousin saw a flier about a stolen horse at Farmfest, an event at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds and called her.She got on the internet and found out the rest of the story about the horse she had bought for her 7-year-old daughter MacKenzie.
The Caughran family are happy to be getting Max back, so much so that they are taking another horse for MacKenzie as a replacement for Max.
"I always thought Max would be found. I personally never gave up and encouraged Susan and Keith to do the same, especially when there seemed to be no hope," says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. "As I would expect, Keith and Susan have a mixture of emotions. It has been 58 weeks and they never gave up, nor did Stolen Horse International."
Ironically, when Keith called Metcalfe, she was working on fitting Max's story into another presentation that she will be giving on Tuesday, at a law enforcement conference.
"Because Max is so uniquely marked like Idaho and his story is similar to what happened to us in 1997, I couldn't help but cry. I could not even speak for a moment. Not only was I elated that Max had been found but it brought back the moment when we got our call after 51 weeks in 1998 along with all of the emotions."
Metcalfe states further, "Thank you all who have helped in any way in the effort to bring Max home and a a happy ending for the Caughran family! We never underestimate the power of one and we never, ever give up here at NetPosse.com."
Stay tuned to this page for updates as they unfold.

black spot on Right side of lip. (Look at his picture of his lip and you will see how easy it is to ID him by that marking.)
"Raise the reward to $4000. Thanks Debi... We are really pounding out info on Max."-- 1/8/09
This family has not given up the search for Max and would like to ask that you don't either. We have had several tips on horses that were possible matches. Max is out there somewhere and with his unique markings can be found. It took 51 weeks to find Idaho, 63 weeks to find Candy, and years to find others so, we never give up hope!Possible sightings in KY, NJ, IL but he could be anywhere in the country or Canada.
