Are you on Twitter?

Do you know about Twitter? Do you tweet? It is the new way of communication according to CNN News. I found out about twittering when watching the news. CNN News and even our US elected officials are using it, why not NetPosse.com?

“Twitter, in case you're over 25 and don't live in a trendy coastal metropolis, is a "micro-blogging" site. It's a free service that lets you send the briefest of messages to everyone in your network. It marries the mass appeal of blogging with the rat-a-tat-tat of text messaging,” says Adam Lashinskym senior writer for Fortune Magazine .

If you’re not on Twitter, then you need to go check it out. Just go to Twitter.com, or better yet, check out NetPosse.com (Stolen Horse International) Twitter stream (I tweet as @netposse). If you’re already on Twitter, be sure to sign up as a follower of netposse, because you might pick up a few pointers.

You can find us by clicking on FIND PEOPLE and typing in netposse or by clicking on this link: http://twitter.com/netposse

When you sign up for a free account, you can post very small messages (each is limited to 140 characters) to a group of people who “follow” you. Think of it as text messaging to a group of people. The idea is to answer the question, “What are you doing right now?”

What’s the point? Why would anyone bother? You can receive links and resources, or live tweeting events I am attending, or my insights about different things.

So how can I use Twitter for NetPosse.com? Let me count the ways. Remember, messages are 140 characters or less, which I admit is a challenge to me, for NetPosse.com, I can be brief. Below are possible types of messages you will see on behalf of NetPosse.com.

  1. Short IDAHO ALERT notices, sometimes before the official alert.
  2. Links to articles in the news or other materials that we have published.
  3. Links to helpful resources we’ve discovered when researching on the Internet.
  4. Notices about our horse expos, workshops, events…
  5. Notices about eBay auctions, ID specials
  6. General announcements

Connect and converse with others. You can talk to users by sending messages to @username. Keep in mind that this is public however, you can use the private communication as well.

You can type twitter.com into your browser and read all about this tool of communication in a few words. So come on, join us today. Be sure to tell your friends about it too. There are never enough eyes and ears to help victims of theft. Never underestimated the power of one…and this time it just may be one tweet that brings another horse home.
