Man from Middlebury Center Pennslyvania charged with horse theft

ELKLAND, PA - According to the Williamsport Sun-Gazette Melvin L. Stafford, 61, of 440 Thornbottom Road, Middlebury Center, was charged by state police in District Judge Brian Edgcomb's courtroom recently with theft of moveable property.

the Sun-Gazette says according to court documents, Stafford cut a fence and took three horses belonging to his neighbor because he said they had damaged his property and he had a court order allowing him to take them if they were on his property.

He was issued a summons to appear at a Feb. 16 preliminary hearing.
