STOLEN EQUINE, Baby Skip – ARKANSAS

Harrison (Boone County), AR Saturday, July 8, 2017

Skip was last seen on June 28, 2017 according to his owner, Elizabeth Ricketts. Skip is a 1-week old Black/Bay Missouri Fox Trotter Colt. Ms. Ricketts advised Skip was noted to be missing at approximately 3:20pm on June 28th. They have searched the property extensively and notified law enforcement. Skip is nowhere to be found.

Ms. Ricketts asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating her horse. Ms. Ricketts has notified the Boone County Sheriff Office of the stolen horse.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

“Skip was a surprise foal and was born early without problems. Things were going well until I got off work on June 28th. His mom was running frantically and was clearly distressed.”, says Elizabeth Ricketts. “We immediately began looking for him. Dragging our pond and looking in every nook and cranny on our property and neighboring properties. There was no sign.” Ms. Ricketts went on to tell Stolen Horse International, that “My sons are devastated and my husband and I are heartbroken. Not knowing is so much worse than burying an animal friend. My sons go down every day when we feed our other horses and the try to look for him. Hoping he is there but he never is. His mom is still looking but you can tell she is growing weary. We just want our baby home.” She has contacted Boone County Sheriff Department regarding Skip’s disappearance. The sheriff department is handling this as a theft.

On June 29, 2017, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Ricketts and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.

You will find Skip’s webpage with information and a printable flyer in his NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates or leads will be posted. Anyone interested in helping can search for report number NR005269 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: http://www.netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=5269

“Circulating the flyer for Baby Skip as well as the NetPosse.com Alert nationwide is imperative, as she could be anywhere by now. These flyers are one tool that brings home many horses and must be posted in as many public places as possible,” says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. “And remember, not everyone has internet access. Please post Baby Skip’s flyer in public places as well.”

Pictures, flyer, contact information, updates and other information are on the NetPosse webpage to identify this case quickly when calling in a tip. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Elizabeth Ricketts, Boone County Sheriff Department or Stolen Horse International with any information.
