LOST EQUINE - Recovered – SWEET PEA – CALIFORNIA

Norco (Riverside County), CA, Thursday, June 15, 2017

Sweet Pea had been missing for four days after she spooked and ran off towards the 15 freeway overpass through the river bottom on June 10, 2017. Sweet Pea was fully tacked. After an extensive search for Sweet Pea she was finally found and reunited with her owner on Wednesday June 14, 2017.

Brandy Stone, Sweet Pea’s owner, asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating her horse. Numerous volunteers, friends and family members searched everywhere for Sweet Pea. Individuals searched by foot and horseback as well as with drones and a helicopter.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

“Sweet Pea is home and okay. A very awesome guy found her in the riverbed and called me directly. She is scratched up but will be okay”, according to Brandy Stone, “A HUGE heartfelt thank you to EVERYONE in the community and the far reaches who shared, discussed, rode, hiked and just supported me in the efforts to find Sweet Pea!!!” Ms. Stone informed Stolen Horse International that her community is working on an event to celebrate Sweet Pea’s recovery and to thank the man that recovered her as well as others that worked hard to bring her home.

On June 12, 2017, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Stone and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.

Stolen Horse International aka NetPosse.com created a webpage for Sweet Pea on our website as well as a group page on Facebook (“Help Find Sweet Pea! Recovered 6/14/17”) which allowed the community to follow the search, post updates and share words of encouragement. https://www.facebook.com/groups/453143285078512/. You will find Sweet Pea’s webpage with information and a printable flyer in her NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates or leads will be posted. All updates on the search can be found by searching NR005259 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: http://www.netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=5259
