MISSING EQUINE, – Dealer – FLORIDA

Eustis (Lake County), Florida Monday, March 20, 2017

Dealer was last seen on March 16, 2017 according to Terri Dempsey. Ms. Dempsey reported that they were out riding in Wekiva River Preserve State Park (Fechtel) when the cart that Terri was driving tipped over and her pony, the pony’s 16-month-old baby and Dealer ran off. Dealer is full tacked. There is a flip phone tied to the saddle horn on Dealer. The pony and baby have been found but Dealer has not been.

Ms. Dempsey asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating her horse. On March 20, 2017, Ms. Dempsey reported that they have continued to search everywhere for Dealer without any sightings of him. She has been camping out next to the barn at night hoping he will come back. They are next to the Seminole Forest. Ms. Dempsey has notified the Lake County Sheriff Department, Fish & Game and the Florida Department of Agriculture of the missing horse.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

“It has been very hard on us. He is pretty awesome.”, says Terri Dempsey. “We need more help searching for Dealer.” Ms. Dempsey went on to tell Stolen Horse International, that the pony passed away from injuries she sustained. They did locate the pony’s 16-month-old baby as he stayed with his Mom.

On March 20, 2017, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Dempsey and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.

You will find Dealer’s webpage with information and a printable flyer in his NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates or leads will be posted. Anyone interested in helping can search for report number NR005195 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: http://www.netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=5195

“Circulating the flyer for Dealer as well as the NetPosse.com Alert nationwide is imperative, as he could be anywhere by now. These flyers are one tool that brings home many horses and must be posted in as many public places as possible,” says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. “And remember, not everyone has internet access. Please post Dealer’s flyer in public places as well.”

Pictures, flyer, contact information, updates and other information are on the NetPosse webpage to identify this case quickly when calling in a tip. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Terri Dempsey, Lake County Sheriff Department, Florida Department of Agriculture, Fish & Game or Stolen Horse International with any information.
