MISSING EQUINES – Mingo & Apache Jane - Arkansas

Boles, (SCOTT COUNTY), AR Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Tuesday, May 31, 2016, Blake Hughes’ beloved horses was reported missing after the became untied and ran off into a trail in Ouachita National Forest.

Blake Hughes asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating his horse. Mr. Hughes advised that Mingo & Apache Jane were last seen Tuesday May 31, 2016. They were loading everything to go home and the horses were tied. The horses came untied and ran off into a trail. Mr. Hughes followed them for approximately 15 miles into the Fourche Mountain Trails at Idle Nook Horse Camp. Mr. Hughes has filed a missing horse report with the Scott County Sheriff Department.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

We were loading everything to go home. I had them tied and didn't have them tied securely I guess. I had them in slip knots and the managed to get them undone at the same time and ran off.", says Blake Hughes. “I'm so ready to have them home. Please Lord Help. I can't imagine not having them in my life.” Mr. Hughes reported that the horses had gotten so far that they were into the 4 wheeler trails and that is where he lost sight of them. He has continued to search for Mingo & Apache Jane and goes back each weekend to search as Mr. Hughes resides in Texas. There is a guide, Gary Emberson, that is from the area that search’s daily. Mingo lost his halter but they believe Apache Jane may still have hers own.

On June 21, 2016, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Hughes and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.

You will find Hughes’ webpage with information on Mingo & Apache Jane in his NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates or leads will be posted. There is a flyer is available as well on their webpage. People interested in helping can search for report number NR004960 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: https://netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=4960

“Circulating Mingo & Apache Jane’s flyer and the NetPosse.com Alert nationwide is imperative, as the horses could be anywhere by now. These flyers are one tool that brings home many horses and must be posted in as many public places as possible,” says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. “And remember, not everyone has internet access. Please post Mingo & Apache Jane’s flyer in public places as well.”
