There is a grant that we can apply for, but we need a FARMER to recommend Stolen Horse International ("NetPosse") to do it.
1. The Farmer MUST reside in one of these counties:
Beaufort, Bertie, Bladen, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Churrituck, Duplin, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Halifax, Harnett, Hertford, Hoke, Hyde, Iredell, Johnston, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Robeson, Rowan, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Tyrrell, Union, Washington, Wayne, Wilson and Yadkin.
AND
2. The Farmer MUST produce these crops on a minimum number acres of land:and ACTIVELY engaged in farming a MINIMUM of 250 acres of corn, soybeans, and/or cotton; OR 40 acres of open field vegetables as defined above; OR 10 acres of tomatoes, cucumbers, and/or peppers grown in protected culture (greenhouse, plastic, nethouse).
AND
3. The Farmer must be 21 years of age or older
Entrants are limited to one entry per qualified person regardless of how submitted. A farmer is 'actively engaged' if he or she is doing the work or if he or she hires and actively manages the work done.
If you know someone who would be willing to help us apply for this grant, please have them contact Ellen Wright at ellen@netposse.com . We can have more than one entry-we just can't have more than one entry/person.
This is the America's Farmers Grow Communities campaign from Monsanto. They have >$22 million to be given away in $2,500 prizes. We would like to be one of those recipients and we can be with your help.
