National Animal Identification System (NAIS)
Stolen Horse International presents both sides of the National Animal
Identification System through information found on the internet, hopefully
to help you, the horse owner, read and educate yourself about this very
important action. As in most things, there are two sides to every
story. The information on this page does not reflect the opinions of
Stolen Horse International in any way, pro or con.
Please take a moment to figure out where you stand. Do you support the
plan or are you against the plan? Have you done enough research
to even know the answer to that question? Do not except what you are
told as the truth, as it may be someone's own version of the truth. Do
your own study. This is just part of what we have found. If you
find an interesting article or website in your studies, please send it to
id@netposse.com.
National ID Plan - he National Animal Identification System (NAIS) is
a national program intended to identify specific animals in the United
States proposed to record the movement of animals, including horses
over their lifetime. It is being developed by the U.S. Department of
Agriculture (USDA) and State agencies—in
cooperation with industry—to enable 48-hour traceback of the movements of
any diseased or exposed animal. This will help to ensure rapid disease
containment and maximum protection of America's animals.

Premises Identification
To track horses and other animals, health officials must know where they are
born and where they are moved. Therefore, identifying places that handle or
keep animals—referred to as premises—is the starting point of the NAIS. Each
premises will be identified with a unique seven character identifier, or a
Premises Identification Number (PIN).

NoNAIS.org is a site
developed by Walter Jefferies of Vermont. The following are excerpts
from his site to help you decide if you want to visit. "NoNAIS.org
is nothing fancy or complex. It is myself, a homesteader, father and small
time farmer in Vermont plus a few other volunteers like Celeste who has been
compiling alerts about NAIS."
"The common people are virtually universally against NAIS once they know
about it. The problem is most people don’t know about NAIS."
"So, I have started this blog to help spread the word about the various
groups fighting NAIS. I want to get the information out to the public so
they can fight for their rights to raise their own food without government
interference."
"Want to do more? Participate in the discussions about NAIS. Do what
you can while you still have the right to speak up and fight back."

Liberty Ark Coalition - In order to be successful in our
efforts to STOP the National Animal Identification System (NAIS), we all
need to work together.
If fully adopted and implemented, the likely outcome of NAIS is that
animal ownership increasingly will be limited to large entities who can
afford to comply and who are willing to accept the governmental intrusion.
Yet this "feel good" program will do virtually nothing to safeguard animal
health, its alleged purpose.

Country via Governmental Control.
