Report Rebuttal to Report Filed ...

FORMS WORK IN INTERNET EXPLORER - may not work in other browsers
We are working to fix this and apologize for any inconvenience.

MUST READ! Terms and Conditions

  • In an effort to be fair, as there are always two sides to every story, SHI/NetPosse is allowing you the opportunity to refute allegations made concerning a report filed with SHI/NetPosse.

  • Keep in mind that this site, www.netposse.com, is a portal to enable people to find stolen/missing horses, tack and trailers. Although we do provide assistance and services to those persons filing reports, we are not a judge or jury.

  • SHI/NetPosse makes every effort to remove any referrals to actual places or people in order to protect those that may be innocent.

  • Many times reports online are considered civil cases, but the original owner needs to locate the horse to ensure its well being or current situation. People in possession of horses reported through our site are not considered guilty or criminals by our organization. Those labels are left to law enforcement and courts.

  • By submitting this form, you are stating that all the information reported is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge in regards to a horse POSTED on this website.

  • If any claims are found to be untrue, invalid or unsupported by either party, SHI/NetPosse will remove the listing from the site at its discrepancy without further justification or notification, and the situation will have to be handled through the appropriate authority.

  • We will also request more information from the original party reporting this situation for our review if we deem necessary.

Please keep in mind that the reports we receive and process are similar to those taken by any local law enforcement agency: Basically, it's first-come, first-serve. We do want to be fair, however, and give both parties an opportunity to present their side of the situation. SHI's main goal in listing missing horses is to ensure the safety and well being of the animal above all else. Advice or information given on behalf of SHI/NetPosse by any members or volunteers is not necessarily a reflection of the organization's views and should never be taken as legal advice above and beyond that of an attorney, court or law enforcement agency. SHI/NetPosse is not responsible for false or misleading information filed by third parties.

If you have any more questions, statements or documentation regarding this rebuttal, please forward it as soon as possible to stolenhorse@netposse.com and reports@netposse.com

Cost of Filing a Report Rebuttal is $50.00 (U.S.)

Since SHI charges to file a Missing report, we must ask that the person filing this rebuttal pay a minimal fee to compensate for the time it takes to review the original report, verify facts, etc. This is also done in an effort to be sure that the report is filed by a legitimate party involved. Unfortunately, CIVIL cases are taking valuable time to resolve when many need to be handled in a court of law. We can help find horses, but we cannot legally do anything to retrieve the animal. That is up to the individual. However, without knowing the location of the horse, many times a judge will award a monetary compensation rather than ownership.

Once the form is completed and submitted, you will be taken to a page to submit payment. If proper payment is not submitted, this rebuttal report will not be considered.

Note: The filing of this report and payment of fee does NOT guarantee that we will remove or alter the current listing. Again, we will consider all facts, and if need be, have the staff attorney review information submitted.
