If the horse was sold legally, then you need to file a "Searching for Horse" report. If you do not have a police case number for a CRIMINAL theft, then this is the form to file.

SHI is an all volunteer nonprofit organization powered by NetPosse Volunteers.
If you were to print 25 color flyers the cost of printing alone would average approximately $25. SHI does a great deal of work for you and distributes your information to thousands. How much is this service worth to you? Stolen Horse International can provide many services to help you recover your horse.

Cost of Filing a Missing (LOST) Horse Report is $25.00 (U.S.)
These are horses missing from pastures, lost on trails, escaped, etc.

READ THIS FOR CIVIL CASES:

Stolen Horse International (NetPosse) is a nonprofit agency of volunteers. We are not attorneys, private investigators or legal advisors. In some cases, we may refer you to professionals in those areas. Therefore, due to the nature of CIVIL disputes arising from a lease, sale, boarding or other agreement, the person submitting a MISSING HORSE REPORT needs to understand the limitations of this organization regarding locating the horse.

Many civil cases need to be resolved in a court of law and the horse owner may need to seek legal counsel. The best chance of being awarded legal ownership of a horse is to first locate the animal. This is the purpose of posting on NetPosse. We cannot become involved in civil disputes.

Upon submitting this report, a NetPosse volunteer will review the information and may contact you for further details or explanations before posting the listing online at NetPosse.com. However, we reserve the right to refuse a listing as stated in the Terms of Agreement, which all persons submitting a report are required to read and understand. We also reserve the right to decide whether or not to create a flyer or issue an Idaho Alert.

At no time will NetPosse or its volunteers act on behalf of any party or as a legal advisor in an effort to settle a dispute. NetPosse services pertaining to a civil matter are limited to posting the horse and information on its website for public review as submitted and verified.

PLEASE READ: You can list up to TWO horses on this report for one price. Additional reports and fees will have to be paid (in multiples of two) if you have more than two horses to report. In order to pay only one fee for two horses, you MUST complete information for EACH ONE on THIS report. Any horse added to report after submission will be processed for an additional fee. Also, each OWNER must fill in a separate report even if only one incident.

Each horse will be listed on the same webpage and flyer, unless you chose to file individual reports on each and pay for each one. Horses will be listed separately on the general state listing at no additional charge. If you have tack or trailers to report, you must file the appropriate report

All items in RED are REQUIRED. Form will not be accepted otherwise. If it does not apply (for example, if there is no reward offered), enter NA. Be advised that failure to provide critical information will delay the processing of the report or it may be rejected so fill in every item possible.

After submitting form and payment, send photos in jpeg format (Word, WordPerfect, and similar documents are NOT acceptable. We cannot use embedded images. Pictures should be 300 dpi (if possible) and one PER horse. Collages are NOT acceptable! We can do color corrections and limited cropping, but we will not extract one image from that of several horses. Email pictures to: acknetpossevol@aol.com and netposse@aol.com when filing report. Reports will not be processed without images if you state that you have pictures to send. You may mail copies of pictures to: SHI, PO Box 1341, Shelby, NC 28151. Pictures will not be returned so do NOT send originals. You may call us at 704-484-2165 with questions or concerns.

Due to the amount of time we find we are working CIVIL cases that involve disputes over sales, leases and boarding agreements, as of May 8, 2008, we have increased the fee to file these reports to $50.00. Those submitting these reports are REQUIRED to provide supporting documentation such as a bill of sale, lease agreement, etc. whether a signed paper or email string so that we can have those for our records.

If you proceed with this form and the required documentation is not received, the horse will be listed under SEARCHING and no refunds will be given.
